We used Empoli as a base as the train station offered many possibilities as a central hub. We did however really enjoy a lovely walk in the scenic hills. The center was clean and had a really nice vibe to it and the locals were very friendly. We were also told by a historian that the city had a good museum of art although we didn't have time to investigate further unfortunately due to time.Guest review byBarker - 8.0

The apartment was lovely and very comfortable. The surroundings had lovely scenery and the nearby town was vibrant. Public transportation was quite a challenge and getting a taxi was not much easier. A gorgeous authentic Italian town just outside Florence with great train routes to Siena, Lucca, Pisa and Cinque Terre. It's the perfect location if you're planning to have a Tuscan base to explore the area but don't want to pay Florence prices. The kitchen is fully equipped, perfect for cooking, and the back terrace is cozy and ideal for relaxing. The location is excellent, just a 7-minute walk from Empoli station, right between Florence and Pisa. Monia was an outstanding host: kind, helpful, and incredibly welcoming. This wonderful boutique B&B set a few yards from the centre of Empoli. We had a beautiful en suite room with everything catered for, including aircon for the warm evenings. Sunny large balcony with soft lighting to sit out in the evenings. Monia and the girls keep everything immaculate.
