Everything was brand new, very nice and clean room with a very nice bathroom. It is also very close to the beach. All in all, a very nice place to stay in, I would strongly recommend.

The host was exceptional, nothing was too much. Lovely bathroom and kitchen. Good sized bedroom with air conditioning. Location a little out of the way but compensated with free to use bicycles (20 minute cycle to town,15 minute cycle to the station and marina) and a pizzeria and mini shop only 5 minute walk. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Thank you ever so much for such a superb stay Doria and Gianni! You made us feel so very welcome. We spent a couple of night here with our baby and young child and this pair spoiled us rotten. They were always on hand if we needed something, nothing was too much trouble. They were super sweet with our children getting toys for them to play with and giving them little treats and delicious fruit (which my partner and I enjoyed too). The accommodation was very clean and our hosts were happy to answer every question we had. Thank you for a faultless and memorable stay. Best wishes.

Easy access with anytime pin access. When you enter the premises, you are greeted by a beautiful, clean smell. The rooms are nice and neat with impeccable bedding. The air con was a bonus as it was so hot outside. The host, Beatrice and the housekeeping staff were very kind and professional. There should be more places like this. The sea is only a 20-minute walk away. To conclude, it was a delight to stay in this lovely B&B.

Very pleasant stay, the apartment is cozy, incredibly functional, quiet, and impeccably clean. Very comfortable sofa and beds with beautiful linen. Strategic location. Andrea was a great host, very responsive, met us and explained everything we needed to know and also sent some very useful information on the town and surroundings. We dined at a recommended restaurant and the food was amazing.

    Carrara is an absolutely unique place on the face of Earth. People are cutting marble mountains for two millennia. The city is very interesting in its history and arts. One can easily spend 4-5 days walking through streets and places. Several tour operators offer very exciting excursions into quarries.

    We chose to visit Carrara primarily for its renowned marble quarries and vibrant sculpture scene. If you have an interest in these arts, Carrara certainly offers a rich experience. The city itself is bustling, focusing largely on the industry that revolves around marble. Aside from this, Carrara might not offer the typical tourist attractions. However, its coastal section presents a more traditional tourist experience with beautiful views and some leisure activities. For visitors whose interests align more with cultural and industrial heritage, especially related to marble and sculpting, Carrara is an exceptional destination. For others, it might require a bit more exploration to uncover its charms.

    Carrara is just stunning but best to go if you’re someone who loves to hike and walk a lot! Gorgeous place with amazing views, quaint restaurants, tiny street shops and markets open on weekdays only.

    Small but friendly town.

    Small but friendly town. Please note that on Friday night all the restaurants in the center are reserved and none accepts that a tourist wants to have dinner at 8.30 pm. Even after looking around I couldn't find a single restaurant that would accept to serve me. Although they continue with empty tables waiting for reservations. Never again and be careful it's a beautiful city to see and leave in 2 hours.

    I spent only one night in Carrara with the goal to visit Carrara Marble Tour. The tour was super interesting, I would definitely recommend the tour. I enjoyed the walks in the area of Piazza Alberica. It is interesting to see the usage of marble in the city. I had a dinner at Osteria la Piazza and I would recommend the place.

    Our stay at Merlo d’Oro was fantastic, and the owners are amazing people, very friendly and welcoming. Paulo was a superstar and very warm and welcoming, always happy to offer assistance! It was one of our best stays for a long time and I would love to stay again if I am passing through the area. Is also a good location to stay if wanting to visit Cinque Terre for day trips. We went on the train from the nearby Carrara station each day to Cinque Terre. Highly recommended and definitely a great place to stay.

Extremely nice landlord - was a true pleasure to have that friendly talk with Corrado and to get all the recommendations, what to see, where to eat etc. Happy to come again for a longer time in the future.

Flavia and Emanuele (who drive us to the property) were very amenable and everything went smoothly. Carrara is a wonderful town where everyone is supportive, kind and friendly.
