A very pretty village on the Shannon.
A very pretty village on the Shannon. There are 3 bars each with restaurants & a cafe in the village. There is a buzz in all of the bars. People are very friendly. You can get a train from Dublin to the village of Dromod for a day trip (met someone who was doing that) or a weekend. One Bar/Restaurant in about 2 mins walk from the train. The Village is about 6-7 mins walk. You can hop on the train (get a return) which will bring you to Carrick on Shannon & return within a few hours so you dont need a car.Guest review byGerIreland - 10.0

lovely location - quiet and peaceful. beautiful Marina with nature walks. 3 local pubs however lack of vegan / vegetarian options on all menus however we were catered for in our B & B/pub short drive to Carrick on Shannon for shoppingGuest review bysharonIreland
