Basically Padang is for people who probably finds food...
Basically Padang is for people who probably finds food hunting their choice of travel. For me, going to Padang was a gateway to Kerinci, for the mountain hike. Padang in itself did not have much sightseeing places to offer but perhaps we did not take the island tours or any waterfall visits. A big city with little to no immediate tourist interest but serves as a good place to start and end travels. There is good food options but a little difficult for anyone not familar with Padang to access the information. The city have a beautiful but undeveloped waterfront. You have a great view overlooking the river in Padang also close to the fast ferry station to get to Mentawai. The staff was very helpful as we had some issues booking a flight without a BSA, but they helped us getting it sorted which shows service of high quality.
