Osijek was once the second city in Croatia and still has evidence of that. The collection of Secessionist buildings on Europska Ave is outstanding on a European scale and it is a disgrace that this hasn't been recognised by the EU. The historic complete military township of Tvrda is also a must visit place. The surrounding Baranje area provides tastes of a country far different to Dalmatia which is what most visitors to Croatia only experience. The Kopacki Rit reserve is a great place for birdwatching including breeding White tailed Eagles and the nearby forest holds large numbers of wild boar.Guest review byAlexandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A beautiful city and wonderful people.
A beautiful city and wonderful people. From monumental buildings to beautiful nature. On both the Osijek and Baranja sides, there are plenty of restaurants where you can eat deliciously. I definitely recommend a ferry ride and a walk across the Pedestrian Bridge.Guest review byAnaCroatia - 10.0

All amenities are available in the large room. The bar pub makes a good impression of having a beer there, although I did not go for it. The tram stop is within a very short walking distance, otherwise a stroll down the promenade of the mighty river Drava takes one to the center. The location is also worth itself as it is the post-medieval Citadel town which is largely reconstructed. The breakfast was more than generous for the price we paid with lots of variety not found even in more expensive hotels. The location is perfect to explore Osijek on foot and they even have free gated parking.
