Amazing suite design and extremely nice owners ! We took some fresh smoothies made from fresh fruits in the afternoon, before going to Monolithos' castle by foot (20 minutes walk). We watched a beautiful sea sunset there. After a very good night in the beautiful fourni suite, we ate an amazing breakfast at the guesthouse. It is trully delicious, with homemade bread and little pies, and very complete. (They also sell some local products, which is also enjoyable.)

Family run tavern/apartments in traditional hill village (I want to keep this place for myself and not tell you about it) where you can totally relax. I found all staff/family to be welcoming and very willing to help. The apartments are exceptionally clean with air-conditioning included in very reasonable price per night. The apartments are above a taverna where you are served good food for a good price (gyros 2 euros, mixed grill 15 euros and everything in between). The tavern/apartments are set on the village square, families from the village meet here most nights. There are x4 small tavernas and a village mini- market, plus a beautiful village church (which is found by following a white marble inlay in the ground from road to church). The unspoilt beaches (the whole coast around this area is natural/unspoilt and long may it stay that way) are approx 2 miles away, where people from the village go regularly plus offer you lifts on the way (trustworthy genuine people). Anyway, as I stated earlier I almost want to keep this gem to myself, however, 'Amalia Hotel' is where you must go if you want a genuine traditional Greek welcome with no rip offs.

My stay exceeded my wildest expectations! The apartment was incredibly clean, cozy and fully equipped. I lacked nothing. The owner is incredibly warm and friendly. The location was perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and will definitely come back here on my next visit to Kattavia. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Just as we expected from the photos, a beautifully decorated old stone house with pretty outside area, very comfortable big bed, and good kitchen and a welcome natural cooling breeze through the windows. Thoughtful supplies of fruit, home made jam and local wine awaited us.

The house was outstanding, like taking a trip back in time. I have visited alot of places around Rodos with my wife but this place outshined them all. If you like the cozy feeling of a Village and it's surrounding nature then this is the place for you. Do not miss out on the wines the Village has to offer. The hospitality of the owners was very warming, they told us about the history of the house and a little about the Village and what there is to see around Embonas. Strongly recommend, 5 stars!!

George and Julia clearly have an eye for detail because everything in Casa Charma was spotless and to perfection. Exactly what we were hoping, for for a quaint, cozy stay during the festive period. The traditional beds, comfortable bathroom, well stocked & equipped kitchen, and brick fireplace were just some of the features that made our stay so pleasant. The hospitality was simply superb and very characteristic of the Greek way of welcoming people into a home.

    Wonderful quiet village with amazing sea view and green forests for walk. There are a lot of nice view spots, a beautiful beach 15 minutes by car from the village. The most friendly people live in Monolithos. It is heartwarming being a guest in this village.

    Spectacular views from a beautiful quiet village. Access to a beautiful beach but you must have car to access it. Several good restaurants but only mini markets so you need to travel 15 to 20k to get to a super market to support a self catering holiday

    Ideal for people who like to travel away from the mainstream...

    Ideal for people who like to travel away from the mainstream tourism and still want a very good infrstructure for tourists. Spectacular area with savage beaches, wild canyons, beautiful forrests and friendly people living their traditional hospitality. A car is necessary to get around and experience the beautiful region. It's cooler in summer (only 25-30) and must be fantastic in spring or autumn. It's never crowded and absolutely relaxed with a friendly atmosphere.

    Local people and animals are very friendly. There are 4 restaurants, 2 mini market shops available + a local product shop. It's a small, but nice village with a great view to the sea. There is a ruin castle and 2 beaches further along the road. Not too many places to visit, but this village is also great for staying in a relaxed athmosphere as a base location to discover the island.

    I highly recommend getting off the beaten track and visiting...

    I highly recommend getting off the beaten track and visiting the dramatic Monolithos Castle. It's famous for the sunset view but is worth visiting at any time of the day. Nice cafe at the foot of the hill.

    The beautiful Asithea villa in the quiet village of Monolithos is a dream! If you want to relax, this is the place for you. It is quiet, modern, newly furnished, with three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with new, modern appliances and two bathrooms. The large terrace with a beautiful view, a barbecue and a hot tub complete the overall experience. The colour scheme of the interior is very pleasant and the rooms are a dream! The hosts are extremely nice and always available. We couldn't imagine anything better!

    Our host Stavros was absolutely wonderful to us, being attentive and generous throughout our stay. The breakfasts served each morning were delicious and worth the additional cost. Our room was clean and spacious, with a fireplace and wood provided for the chillier evenings. The peaceful village of Monolithos has stunning views of the south-east coast (especially round the corner near Monolithos Castle) and is a short drive from nearby beaches.

    Our stay was simply perfect! Aspa is an excellent host, very kind and friendly, while she accommodated our every need. The property is very quiet, clean and cozy, we enjoyed sitting around the fireplace but also admired the beautiful view of the sea from the garden. It is ideally located very close to the beach and Monolithos castle. We definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back! 😃😃
