Last year we stayed 2 nights, maybe next time we could stay longer, as it has everything you need for a cosy vacation, wonderful restaurants, friendly people, beaches around and in Kavala will make your summer vacation wonderful, in spring or autumn would it be also nice. Kavala isn't your usual Greek holiday destination.
Kavala isn't your usual Greek holiday destination. It's a working port and town and not so full of tourists. It has beaches to either side which are very nice. The Fortress and the old town are great to explore with lots of bars and restaurants. A two or three night stay would be long enough. There are some steep walking areas and the traffic is horrendous. Amazing city and vibrant during the day and night with a lot of restaurants and taverns and happy people. I come from Bucharest Romania and if you like Bucharest old city center then you will love Kavala because all the city is like that. On every corner you can taste Frape Cafe, which by the way is incredibly good and of course you cannot leave without eating definitely pork gyros. Beautiful city with great amphitheater views and splendid sea walk. It combine all the amenities, shops, restaurants and nightlife that you expect from a city, with small cozy village felling especially in the Old Town (Panagia). And some of the most beautiful blue flag beaches in the area just a short drive away. So every day you can easily visit a different beach. Even Thasos island is just few minutes by ferry, great for an easy daily beach visit. Best and most beautiful place for accommodation is the Old Town area and around Kamares Aqueduct. It feels like an island village there, but you have everything just a short walk away. Visit the Imaret guided tour, the Fortress above the Old town & the port sea walk with all the restaurants, coffees & bakeries. Dont forget the Philippi archeological site, Parking in the city could be challenging on the commercial streets, but once you get a side street especially around Kamares, it's easy and free. And there are many big paid parking that are inexpensive for full day / night. The Old Town is just next to the large Port Ferry parking. I totally recommend Kavala if you want to feel Greece and get something more valuable than just an all inclusive hotel. Great for foodies!Guest review byBorisBulgaria - 8.0

It’s located in front of the beach. Beach chairs , umbrellas and beach towels were provided by the hotel. As soon as we arrived our room had been upgraded to the suite. Thank you! All the staff were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was very good. Lots of variety of cheeses, juices, fruits , vegetables and freshly made tea or coffee.
