Gaios was a delight.
Gaios was a delight. Very pretty with plenty of tavernas coffee bars etc. However as we made our way through quite a few places we were told many times “ we don’t have “ when trying to order food. It’s not the end of the season you still have tourists! Best trip was with Captain Yannis on Agia Sebastianos boat which was exceptional! Authentic Greek food throughout the day so many swim stops around Paxos and Anti Paxos and for just 55 € great value this was our favourite day I absolutely recommend this to everyone.Guest review byMarionUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Paxos is beautiful.
Paxos is beautiful. We stayed in Gaios as it is the central place for other places on the island. It is small but has everything you need. It is busy with day trippers and those on the many large yachts moored out to sea so the price of clothes in the shops reflect this. But most of the restaurants are very well-priced and all the food is delicious. We didn't have a bad meal during the 5 days we were there. There is a bus to the other towns of Lakka and Loggos, both which have delicious food and access to beaches, which may be pebbly, but the sea is luxurious. A 15 minute boat ride to Anti-Paxos gives a fantastic trip to 2 sandy beaches, light blue sea and places to have lunch. Variety of restaurants and bars lovely seafront bars to have a drink or ice cream watching the boats come in and out. It gets very busy from around 11-3 when the boat trips come in and the beaches are very small. My tip would to venture a bit further out to find more peaceful and not crowded beaches. Mongonisi beach is about an hours walk along the coast it has a sandy beach safe for children with a very nice beach bar/restaurant sunbeds are 5 euros and the beach does not get too crowdedGuest review byAnnetteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The house was in a great location very close to town but also away from all the night life. Gaios had many restaurants and bars and the food is excellent especially a restaurant called Melissi. It has a supermarket, many shops and also a great bakery. Gaios is a great location, the furthest we had to travel to other villages and beaches in the car, was 20mins. Gaios is beautiful and the people are so friendly and kind. There are an abundance of good quality restaurants and bars; most of which are reasonably priced. The shops on the harbour front are very expensive for what they sell. Gaios is a stopping place for luxury yachts so that is to be expected. Alex's bar on the front is lovely and their grapefruit spritz is very refreshing. Taka Taka in a great setting with very efficient service. It is too difficult to single out any specific restaurant; they were all brilliant because of the excellent customer service. If you are up for walking you can get to Mongonissi beach in 45 minutes where you can get sunloungers for 5 euros each and an umbrella for 3. Two lovely restaurants to choose from - the place is a little hidden treasure accessed mostly by day yachts. We stayed a week in June (3d-10th) in a villa close to Gaios. We self-catered a few nights and got a taxi into the town 3 nights. The views are beautiful and there are many restaurants, tavernas and bars to choose from, although it's relatively small and quiet. There is everything you need, from a few supermarkets, butchers and bakeries etc. You don't need any transport once in Gaios as it's small enough to wander around and it's flat, so not an issue for anyone with walking difficulties (which is unusual in Greece!).Guest review bySONIAUnited Kingdom

The property is in an elevated position with lovely views and is peaceful. The accommodation is spacious and well-equipped and tastefully decorated. There is a large terrace with a pool, sun loungers, armchairs, barbecue and choice on dining in the open or under a roof. Andreas our host was delightful and so helpful, and friendly. The position at the top of the hill looks straight over Gaios, and is the most wonderful view. The hill is very steep, thankfully Andreas rented us a car which was perfect for our needs. The next time we holiday in Paxos, I will definitely be staying here again. Breakfast was good and served by the pool area overlooking the bay, which is just heavenly. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the property is well maintained. The area is relaxed and chilled, and an easy walk into Gaios which is much busier. We loved Paxos and would definitely recommend the villas.
