We loved the hotel we stayed in, the walkable neighbourhood by the bay& friendly village store. our children were young adults and so the quiet peaceful environment suited them away from their normal city life. There may be less to do for younger children. the views on route to the coast were spectacular

So beautiful, with Bute only a 5 minute ferry ride away. Excellent for touring and such spectacular scenery. Great roads from Port Appin through Inverary and on to Tighnabruaich...it was a motorbike holiday and thoroughly enjoyable.

    Pleasant location with good views.

Pleasant location with good views. However, the village has limited facilities,, and sadly seems to be struggling to hold on to those it has. Good location for exploring the Cowal Peninsula and for the ferry at Portavadie to take you across to Kintyre.

Tighnabruaich is a lovely sea side village overlooking the Isle of Bute. It's out of the way and feels very remote. There are not many shops, but there are great walks and scenery for ever. Not a place for those looking for nightlife and thrills.

A beautiful location on the shore of the Kyles of Bute, overlooking the Island of Bute. There are many sandy beaches around, and opportunities for low level and high level walks. Ben More (h. 742 metres) will test the fitness of hillwalking visitors. Tighnabruaich offers a few shops (RNLI, Gallery, Charity, Cafes etc.) including a mini Co-op market. Ferry access is readily available to Tarbert on Kintyre, and to Rothesay with magnificent Mount Stuart and its Gardens on Island of Bute. The conserved Victorian Toilets situated in the centre of Rothesay, with impressive marble facings and old-time sanitary fittings, deserve an appreciative visit. Benmore Botanic Garden is not too far away, with its stunning avenue of Sequoiadendron Giganteum and a friendly cafe/restaurant.

Everything from start to finish, I didn't want to come home, we just had a four night stay, with our dogs skip and puppy Bella, fab room and views wow amaising, and the staff treat you like family, and then there is the food, we ate here every night, I can honestly say we have never had better food on all of our travels, Everything on the menu is outstanding, five stars ✨ from the James family. We can not wait to return.

The staff at The Royal were absolutely fantastic, particularly Artur and James who were very welcoming, friendly and helpful! We dined on both nights of our stay and really enjoyed the fresh, local food on the menu. We had a great stay and would definitely return!

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quiet and breakfast was very good, including produce from local suppliers. Karmen and Gabor were friendly and helpful as hosts. I would certainly stay here again next time I'm back in Tighnabruaich.

This is a cosy, comfortable apartment with a great view. It was a great base for a short break on Argyll's Secret Coast. The village store has everything you need for groceries and a there's a rapid charger for the car in Tighnabruaich.
