The scenery is stunning!
The scenery is stunning! Shame about the closeness of the road to our bedroom window! A cooked breakfast would be an improvement! The room was tiny! I did have another 3 days booked for the end of September but cancelled after our stay! Gateway to both the Northern and Southern lakes.
Gateway to both the Northern and Southern lakes. A lot of good restaurants in the general area, but book early if in a large group . Hoards of people so visit important places early e.g. Castlerigg stone circle is MUCH better if you're the only group there. You can feel its 4500 years age. Book steam ferries before you go otherwise availability might be low. Ask prices at tea rooms before buying. We paid £33 for seven teas/coffees.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

The staff were very friendly and helpful, food was fab, rooms were very nicely decorated, modern but not too modern. Was just right for the building. It makes a refreshing change to see a hotel keeping the original look.
