Perfect location, accessible parking, and a lovely welcoming and helpful staff. The rooms were lovely, great bathrooms (very important!) and a perfect breakfast for each of our party. All for a very affordable rate. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and surrounding area. Plenty of eating places and wee shops to wander the high street. Walks, cycling, golf and fishing near. Playparks for children. Can get bus to Hamilton or Glasgow or head south. train station nearby goes to Edinburgh. Lots of accommodation options.

    It's a pretty country town, once a spa, set in deeply rural Southern Uplands, with good hill-walking a few miles away. There are a variety of shops, mainly local, some touristy. It's a good base for exploring a relatively unfrequented part of Scotland.

    We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what we did see looked good, bars, shops restaurants etc. It was easy to walk into Moffat from the guest house and is within easy reach of main roads leading to other towns.

    Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of...

    Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of England to the Isle of Skye and it was a perfect location. Moffat has a good mix of shops and pubs, we ate at the bull which was very nice. The surrounding country side is dramtic and forms a great back drop.

    Moffat is a lovely town.

    Moffat is a lovely town. We broke our journey from Inverness with an overnight stay there. It is a short distance from the main A74, there is ample free parking and the town has lots of hotels and eateries. Perfect.

    Compact but plenty of facilities, pubs, eateries ect in and around the main street . Pretty with a pleasant park and walks. Good central base a few minutes from the moterway but couldn't see or hear it. Friendly people and no shortage of parking in the centre.

    Self-catering / The Town / The Friendliness of the locals / The Incredible efforts and hard work of some local folks volunteering in maintaining the Moffat Market Town including roads, laybys, country lanes, bins spanking clean! Hats off to such Incredible community spirits! Furthermore, attended a marvellous celebration festival of golden eagles, rewinding, conservation, etc. in Scotland! Furthermore, the sun was shining magnificently on the Town and its beautiful surrounding hills!

    For many years we have used Moffat as our first stop point on trips to Scotland. We have now found our favourite B&B to stay at.George and Elena were perfect hosts. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was great. They have even managed to introduce a bit of Dubai into the guest lounge….the TV was massive.

    Pleasant stopover on the way to Scotland. Unfortunately it was torrential rain so I couldn't explore Moffat. My single room was clean and comfortable. Nice to have milk in the fridge. I didn't stay for breakfast. The evening meals looked very affordable. Free parking in the street .

    As a motorcyclist, this hotel is fabulous. It would be hard to find anything better! Dave and his staff are great hosts, the rooms are comfortable and fantastic food. Whether you are a motorcyclist or not, this place is hard to beat for a place to stay in Moffat! Top marks!
