We visited three years ago we did notice a diff3rence since our last visit. The cottage we stayed at is lovely the owners are superb very attentive and helpful. Ludlow has changed a good few of the places to eat we went to last time have closed. Pubs we had visited also had closed including the beautiful Old Bull Tavern built circa 1365. Such a shame to see this happen and traditional butchers shops closed amongst others. What a beautiful place it is but the area has a lot of closed down shops now. A sign of the times I suppose but worth a visit the buildings are superb. It's like going back in history everywhere is easy to get too on foot.

Worth going to see the castle.

Worth going to see the castle. We went to the Food and Drink Festival which was great. Lots of independent businesses in the town. It has a vibrant atmosphere and there's something for everyone whether you're looking for a good pub, an interesting wine shop, cheese, butchers, the lot. Also has supermarkets on the fringes. Plenty of places to get cash out of the wall. We were lucky with the parking which is not too expensive if you use the car park. On street was available at £2 per hour. No limit to time you could stay which is good. Bus service is what you would expect in rural Shropshire but there is a reasonable park and ride. It was more convenient for us to drive as the P&R for the food festival was hit and miss last time we went. There is so much to see in the area, lots of NT properties to visit. If you can try to buy local food and drink. It may be more expensive but the quality is superb.

I knew Ludlow from previous visits when my daughter and her partner lived in an Art Studio in Pepper Lane. It was my partners first visit and he loved it. People in Ludlow were friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again in the Soring because our stay was short and there was not enough time to experience everything I know Ludlow has to offer.

A lovely small historic town in the Shropshire countryside, a good base for touring with a few attractions in the town itself. It's quite hilly in places. Plenty of restaurants and cafes. We ate at sourCed pizza and would highly recommend it for good food and friendly, attentive staff. Local produce and they don't add a service charge because, as they say, you should only tip if you appreciate the service. Refreshing. Can be busy, so call and book.

The town centre is lively and vibrant during the day, with an excellent market and plenty of shops. There are lots of good cafes, pubs and restaurants, though check times of evening food service as they can finish a bit earlier than in some places. The main attraction of Ludlow for us are the Georgian houses, Tudor shop fronts and ancient cottages so we spent quite a lot of time wandering around the streets, admiring them. There are pubs for a drink in the evening, but the streets were very quiet after 9pm, with no rowdiness or noise. Just perfect!

Lovely hotel which is extremely pet friendly, great location under 10 mins walk into centre of Ludlow, it is uphill as some reviews mention but my wife and I are in our 50's and it really isn't hard work. Parking is ample and easy, there is a field opposite the hotel which is great for walking your dogs in and it was remarkably dry considering all the wet weather we have had. Restaurant was very good too, would not hesitate to recommend this place

Delightful studio home away from home. Everything you need for a few days away - friendly engaging owners who provide lovely little extras to make a continental breakfast and make you feel very welcome. Lovely hotel pub at end of lane on the river for a good evening meal with a superb view. Lovely walks into Ludlow along river the bread walk and up the back of castle into Ludlow town or direct up the residential streets into the Main Street.
