Holyhead itself isn't a great place.
Holyhead itself isn't a great place. Lots of empty and scruffy building in the town centre, although the harbour area out the other side is nice with the maritime museum. The only real highlight of the town centre are the remains of the Roman fort. The surrounding area including Treaddur Bay is much better for a visit. There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself.
There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself. A few nice walks around the coast. I don't have a car so next time I would stay closer inland in Anglesey to take advantage of more activities and places to see. I ended up taking a train to Bangor for a day. Great place with so much to do, give it a go.. beautiful beaches, Newborough was amazing, we walked holyhead mountain, a fabulous circular walk, we also visited Parys mountain... well worth a trip.. we ate at oceans edge restaurant, amazing food and drink, great service too.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very welcoming to my dog. Beds were extremely comfortable,and the shower was powerful. Car park excellent and safe. Location perfect. Beach opposite the hotel, and a cove, both fantastic. Hotel is conveniently located for the ferry. Such an ideal pet friendly place to spend the night after a ferry crossing.
