Holyhead itself isn't a great place.

Holyhead itself isn't a great place. Lots of empty and scruffy building in the town centre, although the harbour area out the other side is nice with the maritime museum. The only real highlight of the town centre are the remains of the Roman fort. The surrounding area including Treaddur Bay is much better for a visit. My evening trip to South Stack was really good, including a surprise historic settlement site across the road from the car park.

Visited Short Stack. Great walk. Great food from a local fish and chips shop. The town was very walkable for basic needs. Heard there are at least two nice beaches. The people were very friendly. Several times I was asked if I needed help as I was walking.

As I was getting the ferry next day, an it was a lovely evening I was able to enjoy a lovely walk, however had the weather been cold/wet Holyhead does not appear to have much to offer to encourage longer stay

There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself.

There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself. A few nice walks around the coast. I don't have a car so next time I would stay closer inland in Anglesey to take advantage of more activities and places to see. I ended up taking a train to Bangor for a day. Rubens in the town centre is a very nice place for a coffee.

Breakfast was delicious, and the conservatory is so pleasant for a sunny start to the day while dining. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very welcoming to my dog. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the shower was powerful. Car park excellent and safe. Location perfect. Beach opposite the hotel, and a cove, both fantastic. Hotel is conveniently located for the ferry. Such an ideal pet friendly place to spend the night after a ferry crossing. I stayed before, and I will definitely book again.

Great location, used it for one overnight prior to boarding the ferry to Dublin. Very accommodating, friendly and supportive hosts, nice little breakfast room with a full english breakfast and a view to the harbor. Bathroom, especially the shower was updated and even better than what you sometimes get in 4 star hotels, impressive.
