A compact town centre with many restaurants and tabacs. Lots of shops and two large supermarkets within five minutes drive. Surrounding countryside absolutely stunning, and numerous locations and opportunities for Champagne tasting and purchasing. Traffic-free roads an absolute delight. The town of Epernay was easy to walk around and we found everything that we needed. Visiting the Avenue de Champagne was impressive, informative and very enjoyable. This is a lovely town.
This is a lovely town. It's obviously famous as being one of the main centres for Champagne but there is plenty else to see in the town on a shorter stay and in the surrounding area if you want to stay for longer as we did. A busy work a day town that has champagne at its heart. It is not scenic in a French way but nonetheless less it was an interesting place to spend a day and a half. It rained heavily so we toured the champagne route in the car but as It was a Sunday nowhere was open. We had a champagne tour on the Monday at Charles Mignon.
