This is an excellent small hotel, easily accessed from the main road from Perpignan to Quillan. It is super quiet. The meals we had in the restaurant were of super quality and represented excellent value for money. The breakfast too was a superb continental type and very reasonably priced and with no limit on the food, coffee or juices. The room had been very tastefully renovated and the bathroom had a super shower. But most of all we really loved the staff. The owners have done a good job in selecting staff who we found to be super friendly and helpful. The garden area was well furnished and the swimming pool was perfectly clean and well maintained. Definitely this hotel is worth a visit, we loved it !!.

Fantastic and exceptional service shown by the staff. The rooms are large and each has aircon. The staff also turned it on ahead of us for our arrival which was much appreciated as we were travelling during a heatwave. We were on a cycle tour and travelling on bicycles and the hotel accommodated these well. The restaurant has two menu options - French and Vietnamese. They were both fantastic and I recommend eating at the restaurant when staying there. The breakfast has all options available and for those who are cycling I can also say it is fantastic! Lastly one of our booking party couldn't make it and even though we had pre-paid the rooms, and I never requested a refund, the owner of the hotel insisted on organising the refund and the service he provided was exceptional.

Axat is tiny, but still has all the essentials. Easy walk to shops. Also great loop walk from the doorstep (Sentiers de Train). Velobikes from the train station, two minutes from the house. Tourist train only, so not noisy. Great accommodation, well equipped. Thoughtful touches such as plug adapters for UK travellers. Easy run to Rennes Le Chateau or Montsegur. Big Lidl supermarket at Limoux, or smaller one at Quillan, where there's a good Saturday market. Also extensive fun market at Esperaza on a Sunday. Private garden with lots of sitting places. The river Aude runs right next to the garden, so you can watch the wildlife with a coffee. Local English speaking very helpful caretaker. Very highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful apartment right in the centre of Axat. fabulous views from the windows and a delightful private terrace with chairs and table. very comfortable and very well equipped. We will come back here for sure.
