Scratch beneath the small-town surface of Helsinki and you will find a cosmopolitan metropolis buzzing with a lively attitude and plenty of excitement. Helsinki is a fascinating city with buildings and monuments reflecting its history. The shopping is excellent and the tramway, taxi, Ubers and Bolt systems are very convenient and reasonably priced. We enjoyed riding the No. 4 tram to the beach and cafe at the end of the line, and also the boat ride around the harbour and fortress island. Helsinki is an old city with many interesting old buildings. The streets are clean and not crowded. It is very walkable city with an UNESCO site of old fortress. I walked around the city and sat nearby the lake and many gardens and many beautiful streets, but native people are not social (as expected, actually). It was fun to be here. Beautiful city with great parks and restaurants and art, all very walkable. Lots of history, extremely clean, and easy to navigate. Finns are very polite if self-contained and it's a lovely place to explore a culture that appreciates sophistication and nature together in one place. Plus, it's very dog friendly!
