We stayed in Getaria as a base to enjoy all of the surrounding areas. It was well situated between towns. We saw a soccer game in Bilbao one night and drove to France the next day. In Getaria you have a wide range of restaurants to choose from, and lively tapas bars , a very good outdoor bar overlooking the harbor . Safe beaches to swim , very clean. An "ok" place to use as a base for day-trips in the Bilbao/San Sebastian area. However, Getaria is a very small village. Other than a beach and restaurants, there's not much to do. Having said that, it is an excellent location as a base to visit the many, many other areas/sites in this Northern Spain area. The property is well equipped for a holiday stay, with a kitchenette, spacious shower room and good air conditioning - we appreciated that the air conditioner was not blowing cold air right into the bed. The place was very quied with the big vineyards around. 30 minuts to San-Sebastian, 20 minuts to the Geopark Flish, 1 hour to Bilbao. Excelent location.
