    We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving...

    We enjoyed the area and while we did a lot including driving to Monteverde for zipline tour, we chose one day of pampering rather than adventure so did not hike around Arenal or paddle board on Arenal. We did white water rafting between Puerto Viejo and Fortuna. We did waterfall repelling near Fortuna (amazing). The people are friendly and the area is lovely. We enjoyed a night time nature tour with our hotel (Noah's Landing) and Nayara Gardens was amazing. We saw plenty of sloths but so much more! We went to the Mistico hanging bridges on a rainy day which worked well-it did not matter. We also visited the Fortuna Waterfall (500 steps down-then 500 steps up but worth it!) If you like adventure- there is plenty. If you want to relax-it is a beautiful place to do so.

    This is a great area to experience Costa Rica and the wildlife. We visited Mistico hanging bridges (great with a guide as located creatures we would not have); La Fortuna waterfall (no guide needed); Sky adventures (aerial tram, zip lines & trails); sloth guided tour; Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails (day pass with lunch) - all of which we would recommend!

    It is difficult to get around in Costa Rica.

    It is difficult to get around in Costa Rica. They have on main major highway and you must get off that highway to get to Jaco and Fortuna. The roads are windy and it takes forever to get somewhere. It took us 3.5 hours to get from Fortuna to San Jose and it is less than 100 miles. This is due to the windy roads which are typically one lane in each direction. However, it is a beautiful drive. Just be prepared! If you are in the Jaco area, do not miss Villa Caletas. Has an amazing view. We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club at Los Suenos in Garabito. It is a beautiful property.

    The room was too small clostephobic no air conditioning no tv no nothing i dont recommend staying here you will regret it. i tried to get a refund and the girl at the reception didnt know how to work the compurter or do any assistance to this matter. I Strongly encourage you not to stay here if you do then i could say i told you so....please go somewhere else for the money.......totallyt a rip off

    Fortuna is a must see city. It was very clean very safe. The people were very friendly and honest. Definitely a US friendly town there was lots to do and lots to see the food was excellent. The roads were good. Couldn’t ask for a better experience would definitely come back.

    Fortuna is amazing! We loved every miniute.

    Fortuna is amazing! We loved every miniute. We met wonderful, friendly people, who just wanted to share their love of their country and culture. Every meal was delicious, Service is top notch, and the prices are great. It is perfectly located to enjoy all of the surrounging tours, ziplining, hiking, ATV, sloth tours, and omg the hot springs and thermal rivers! You must visit!!

    We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Secreto La Fortuna! We were greeted by a warm welcome by the team, who were always available to help and were extremely friendly. Our room was spacious and modern. Each room has its own covered porch area with seats and a table. The best and our favourite part is the tropical garden, the volcano view and the pool area - OMG so beautiful and relaxing! The location is also excellent - you are right in the centre minutes away from all the bars and restaurants yet on a very quite lovely road

    In general, the hotel is very good. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the balcony is huge. It’s located a bit far from the busy city, making it a perfect place to relax, enjoy a hot tub, and take in the views of Arenal Volcano. It’s also located near the La Fortuna Waterfall (just a 5–7 minute drive). The property is surrounded by a beautiful garden where you can see many types of birds. The breakfast was okay—just a standard hotel breakfast, nothing special.

    The staff was extremely kind (they helped me with the organisation of a good part of my time in La Fortuna, and they were always very polite / nice), the hotel is well located and it’s easy to walk to most places around. The room had a good size and was clean. The breakfast is also good and the restaurant staff also very kind.

    Great hotel overall. Exceptional staff that was very helpful with every request we had and always ready to recommend us things to do in the Fortuna/Arenal area. Breakfast was good, but the highlight was the view to the garden from the breakfast restaurant. Room was clean but nothing extraordinary.

    Good location in the town, and access to the brother hotel near the La Fortuna Volcano was a huge positive. Nice place to stay for the price we paid. We did get a significant discount though. Breakfast was good too and staff super friendly and helpful.
