This is a family-run hotel with the whole family pitching in. They were delightful and keen to be helpful with lots of cups of tea, advice and assistance with purchasing tickets. It felt like I was staying with friends. Very little english, but fearless with using translation apps. Very thoughtful - gave me a bottle of water for the train home after dropping me at the station. The standout for this property was the staff. I wish them every success with their business.

Staying in this hotel was one of the best experiences in China 🇨🇳. The manager did an absolutely fantastic job, taking us from the railway station and providing us with warm welcome. The quality of service in China is one of the best in the world and this place is a role model. We received gifts and bathroom equipment. We were showed how to visit the city and how to manage. The big advantage for this hotel is the place itself. It looks like a historic traditional Chinese style, and it makes the stay an adventure where you can go back in a time. It is a good mix between modern standard of living and traditional climate The last thing worth to mention, I forgot to take my cosmetic and the manager sent it to my hotel in Beijing immediately. About the city, people say that it is a touristic open-air museum and it is not an actual china. It is true, but this is why it is worth visiting this place as it is inspiring and climatic. It is not touristic in terms of Turkish or Egipt scams place, but it is touristic because of its history and buildings that the government decided to keep in unchanged shape. 2 nights would be perfect to go around in rest mode, before going to more crowded and noisy cities. Beware Alipay is necessary to buy tickets online and visit all museums.

I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

The hotel environment was very good, the staff was very friendly, asked us in advance about the arrival time and method, arranged a pick-up car to pick us up, and had a good breakfast. We had a wonderful 3-night stay in this unique and charming apartment in the heart of Pingyao. The place is full of character and history, yet equipped with all modern comforts. What truly made the experience exceptional was our host, who was incredibly kind and helpful. He arranged transportation for us from and to the train station, as well as a private trip to visit the Shuanglin and Zhenguo temples outside the city—making everything smooth and stress-free. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and her staff. The structure is in the heart of the city, and has an enchanting internal cloister. The rooms are large and equipped with every comfort. The bathroom has both a bathtub and a shower. We felt at home and really appreciated the owner's hospitality and friendliness. We will definitely return.

The hostel is pretty clean and the location is amazing, and to me, it is even the best location. Within the old town. It is on the “the South Street”, the main walking street of the Old town, easy to get to everywhere. It is several steps to the South Gate, so can get a transport car easily. The host is quite friendly, give a lot of travel tips and can also help to arrange tour guide service. They also offer pick up and drop off service to railway station. Room is large and clean, breakfast also good. I would highly recommend this hostel.
