    This hotel has more of a bare-bones appeal to it, but comes with a long history and period-accurate restoration. It is in the Pingyao Old City, they allow late check-in and check-out. Hosts speak english and are very kind and helpful.

    The city is undeniably beautiful and feels like a living museum, perfectly preserved in time. However, it’s very touristy, with shops that all seem to offer the same souvenirs, making it feel like a true tourist trap. It’s worth a quick visit, but I wouldn’t recommend spending too much time there. Additionally, I was disturbed to see many pigs and other animals kept in small quarters in some stores. If you’re sensitive to animal welfare issues, this may be hard to stomach. Overall, while the city has its charm, be mindful of its tourist-centric nature.

    Beautiful ancient city, and you still can feel the daily normal leaving of its inhabitants. Liked the most to have 99.9999% chinese tourist at this time of the year, Mid March. Only 4 westerners encountered. Chinese History at its best. Lots of historical places to visit and learn from ancient China. Unmissable for local and foreigner travellers.

    Incredibly beautiful town, totally made up of traditional Chinese architecture (at least on the main streets). You can buy a ticket that allows entry into many of the sites, including the Draft Bank, Temple of the City God, Confucius Temple and so many more, and then spend a day wandering around exploring them as you come across them. (Note that some of the smaller ones have almost no English signs, so it can be difficult to know what they are!). We bought the ticket from a window nearby (1 minute east) of the draft bank, but there may be other places. It's also interesting to go up the City Walls and see the town from above.

    Everything! Very beautiful traditional courtyard mansion hotel in the heart of the ancient city. The room was very well appointed and comfortable, with a lot of nice touches. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were superb, very attentive and helpful. They’ve offered free pick up and drop off to the train station, which was very convenient. They gave us excellent suggestions for eating places and attractions. They help us to organise our laundry. And more and more! If ever back in Pingyao we will definitely stay here again!

    I was so pleasantly surprised by the hotel I stayed at this time! The location is perfectly chosen—it's right in the center of the ancient city. Whether I wanted to go to scenic spots or eat, it was very convenient. The room was impeccable too; it was very clean. Even though it faces the street, it was quiet at night. The front desk lady checked me in quickly and patiently. I forgot to bring my charger, and when I called the front desk, they sent it over soon. I'll stay here again next time I come!

    Good location near one of the main shopping streets. Hotel was very helpful to arrange taxi services to and from the Pingyao Gucheng station (with a fee). Beds were super comfy. Best part were the courtyards...they were very beautifully maintained and curated, worth a lot of pictures, but without looking too 'touristy'. The owner/receptionist was very kind and helpful, and spoke good English.

    A modern and stylish accommodation right on the main street of Pingyao old town. The room and bathroom were very spacious and spotless. Very clean and quiet. The host was friendly and helped us at any time.
