The Chasserugg mountain railway was a short walk from the Santis Lodge Hotel. It is a beautiful scenic ride up to a ski station and restaurant. A cable car travels from there to the highest point of the mountain where another restaurant with a log fire awaits. Santis mountain is half an hour's drive away. The hotel Schonau is a short walk up the hill serving delicious Swiss food such as rosti and fondu as well as pizza and other items. The Chaserrugg cable car is opposite the hotel, about 3-4 minutes walk away. The Thun waterfall is a 10 minute walk away and there are countless other wonderful hiking destinations to explore from here. If you arrive by public transport, the bus stops a few minutes from the hotel. The staff are helpful and have a solution for everything.
