One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, that is not very much known to international travelers, which means cable car prices here are way cheaper than for example Mont Pilatus. It has everything, the lakes, majestic mountain peaks, secluded Seelisberg See, the historical background. The shape of Vierwaldstättersee makes it looking like a fjord from above. We had originally booked for the hotel next door which was much more expensive and did not have 24 hr check in and because our flight was very late and delayed, I’m really pleased we changed. We stayed in a family room under the eaves, so although it was fairly hot we had fabulous views, a little balcony and the kids loved the mezzanine which they quickly acquired as their own space! The hotel is a welcome change from chain hotels, it has a real charm and was much better than I was expecting (the photos don’t do it justice.
