This is a bedroom community. It is quiet and we respect that short term rentals can be a contentious issue so we kept noise to a minimum. But we are all in our 60s and in bed by 10pm, say no more... That said, we found the proximity to grocery store, gas station and yes, a beer/wine store, within walking distance very convenient. Burnaby is about a 20 minute metro ride from Vancouver centre. It's easy to get the metro from here. Good shops and places to eat. We liked Central Park - it has a running track around the outisde of the park and lots of paths to walk. A great green space in the city. We ate at a place called Earls and it was excellent. So I like being in around a busy center.
So I like being in around a busy center. What a great idea having a mall right there so everyone can enjoy themselves. Plus good Transportation all over the city. My family is wanting to make another trip there in the future. Not friendly people there.
Not friendly people there. Everyone was in a rush and in a bad mood. Maybe because it was raining all day and the Superstore down the road had computer problems and people could not check out. It was a disaster. Also, the Costco parking near by was INSANE! I wasn't even going to that store but rather a neighbouring restaurant and this guy in his fancy Audi was trying to pass cars in the oncoming lane on the street leading to the Costco parking lot. He almost hit me as I was leaving a restaurant parking lot as the cars were stopped for me. He was such an A-HOLE, getting out of his car to yell in my face. Burnaby is a distance from Vancouver. I did not realize this when I booked. It seems to be a business area and I was a tourist. Services were spot on from dining options to taxi availability. An amazing neighborhood of Vancouver, you get the quietness and the green landscapes without the heavy traffic of downtown. We had access to a number of restaurants mostly asian, and access to many places of interest including Metropolis mall on Kingsway. The area was VERY quiet but a room on the back of the hotel would be better than the front and then you will have a beautiful view of the mountains. Breakfast was the standard 'continental' Tim Horton's selection of muffins bagels and apples that looked years too old to eat sadly. The parking underground the building was very useful. The apartment is very nice and comfortable, spacious and with all the amenities and facilities.
