A few pubs at Nhill, however the recommended place was shut for Sunday dinner unfortunately. Owner was helpful however and suggested a couple of alternatives (the only alternatives in Nhill!!!)
Not much there but a friendly town halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne.
Think there was a bakery but that was closed. The IGA was open thank goodness.

For a one bedroomed unit, it was beautifully spacious, situated in a quiet street yet close to local shops and just a short drive from the road connecting Melbourne and Adelaide. It was relatively easy to contact the owner when we needed the correct WiFi information. Apart from that, good, timely details were provided regarded entry and exit.

Nhill was quiet and not much open on a week night from a restuarant perspective. The Vietnamese restuarant which is also a bakery next door was great and so convenient. IGA supermarket stocked all you need.
Good base to visit some of the silo trail and local museums in the area.

Quaint town. Has a good cafe and IGA available. Unsure of hotels. Hotel was popular and quite satisfactory for overnight stay. Did not hear any main road noise unlike other motels on this highway. Down the road is the Australian Pinball Museum, which is an interesting site to visit even if your not into pinball machines.

Public pool opposite - we usually head to Adelaide over summer - so this is always welcome. Couple of decent pubs as dinner options. Good IGA for snacks & other supplies. We don't need much else for our overnight stay. Halfway to our destination, it's a great little spot.

I went for a walk around the lake before breakfast and my daughter explored the Swamp Boardwalk. Well worth the hour’s walk before another 4 hour drive to Adelaide.
We had Mr Le’s famous Banh Mi for dinner which we called ahead for on the night of our arrival - delicious!
Breaking my trip to Adelaide in Nhill gave us the opportunity to stop and look at some of the most amazing sights and places that we’ve just flown by in the past.
Check out the Silo Art in the small towns along the way.
Definitely don’t miss The Puppet Shop at Kaniva. It will be 15 minutes of your trip that will stay with you for years. Julie has a lifetime of puppets, dolls, games and curios from cultures across the globe in books and crannies in this jewel box of a shop.

A step back in time to a 1960's classic country motel complete with green flecked laminex shower lining, 60's lamps, intricately folded white towels, the smell of smoking in reception and International Roast sachets. The room was very clean, had a comfortable mattress and a hot shower and the noise level wasn't too bad as the hotel is slightly off the highway. So a faded place but fine for one night.

Great fitout and very convenient location right in the centre of Nhill and next door to the popular Mr Le Vietnamese street food restaurant. Well equipped kitchen. At the end of the street is the Nhill lake and boardwalk which was a great walk location with the dog.

It was clean, the internet & phone signal was strong and Nhill has a couple of good eateries. Prefered this place of the other similar last-minute options for halfway stop between adl & melb
