The setting was very nice, with close to all the attractions of the Mullingar area but in the countryside. The host's husband, who was filling in while she attended to family matters, was very friendly and even gave us a tour of his hurling stick manufacturing and shop. It's a gated yard, so it felt very secure, and the breakfast area had everything you needed for a little snack or a good start to the day!

I also appreciated the fact that although breakfast doesn't start until 8.30am, there was no problem with me having breakfast starting at 8.15 as I had to make a 9am conference in Athlone Community College about 10 minutes drive away. The owners were extremely accommodating, helpful with restaurant choices to eat in on the night of my arrival and very friendly.
