Our 3-night stay in the Altarocca Wine Resort was the highlight of our holiday in Italy. After the heat and crowds of Rome, it was a haven of quiet and beauty, set amongst vineyards and olive groves, perfect for a few quiet, lazy days. Also a great base to discover the region - Orvieto, Rocca Ripesena, Civita di Bagnoregio. We booked a picnic in the vineyards and spoiled ourselves with the Oil & Spa Experience. It was just magic. Our rooms were located in the Borgo del Vino; we had lovely big rooms, comfortable beds and air conditioning (essential in Italy in the summer!). It was a short (beautiful) walk to the Villa Gualtieri where the reception, breakfast room and spa were located. Both areas have their own swimming pool with loungers and bar.

The accommodation was in the perfect area to visit all the tourist attractions as well as the benefit of returning to your room for a quick relax. The room had a view of the duomo and the church bell that rang on the hour. The staff were very reliable and helpful and always welcoming whenever you approached them.

We stayed just for one night but we can imagine to stay longer. The apartment was modern, clean, spacious and well equipped. We appreciate we could check in at night hours. It is a good location for visiting historical centre of Orvieto. The breakfast was arranged in the nearby café.

The location is good for visiting Orvieto, by walking 10-15min you can reach the funiculare station, and in 2 minuts you are in the oldtown. We travelled by car, so for us was perfect, to leave the car in front of the apartment and discover the city! Emanuele and his wife are great hosts! We love it so much to meet them, they recieved us with the most warm welcom and were open to help at any time. Although we were travelling as couple, we noticed the place is well provided for travelling also with children!

It was clean and comfortable and just a short walk to the central Duomo area. There was lots of space for us and lots of helpful guide books there. We loved it. Our host was a lovely, kind lady and accommodating when we needed to leave our bags. And so interesting to read about its history as a church.

    Spotlessly clean, comfortable and in a great location with the bonus of a cute little balcony. Very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. Our room had a sofa bed for my daughter which Valentina kindly made up for us before we arrived. Nice quiet street but close (easy walking distance) to everything. Would definitely stay here the next time I’m in Orvieto. They can also provide secure parking nearby.

    We loved the apartment great location it beautifully decorated every clean and comfortable.It had everything we needed and a great view of the cathedral.The restaurant across the road was very nice also the deli near by where you could get porchetta panini . I would recommend visiting Orvieto and staying at Cathedral House.

    We have stayed in many apartments over the years but Marianna’s flat (apartment) was by far the most exceptional. High quality throughout. Outstanding cleanliness. Peaceful and quiet location, yet very close to the centre of town. Marianna was a delight to deal with both before and during our stay.

    Firstly the location is excellent, we parked at the Marconi carpark which is outside the restricted zone, but an easy short walk to the apartment which is so centrally located in the old town , it is perfect. The car park is 1Eur per hour, but free from 8pm to 8am anyway, so is cheap and not busy. Definitely the best place to park. The apartment is outstanding, tastefully decorated, fully equipped and comfortable and quiet, and very, very clean. The host is helpful, friendly and responsive.
