Fantastic villa, only 4 villas very spacious clean and Private, the staff are amazing and really take an interest in looking after you. Food was very good with good variety. We will be back with a few more friends and family. Someone commented about the road in, and how bad it was, it’s actually not to bad as far as Sumba goes, we hired a scooter from the Villas and really explored the area. We would have stayed loner but unfortunately they were booked out. 5 nights was not long enough.

Staying at The Rua Room in Umarato Villa was an experience straight out of a dream. The moment I stepped onto the balcony, I was greeted by a breathtaking ocean view that stretched as far as the eye could see. But the real gem of this room was the outdoor bathtub nestled amidst the natural beauty of the surroundings. The attention to detail in The Rua Room was impeccable, from the luxurious furnishings to the thoughtful amenities provided. Every aspect of my stay was carefully curated to ensure maximum comfort and enjoyment.

Lydia was a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble, she, organised motorbikes for us as well as a car and driver for our trip back to the airport via a lovely beach club, also horse riding, advice on what to do and see, and she even spent time teaching my husband to cook some local dishes. Her children were absolutely delightful. The new swimming pool was great and will be amazing once the decking is finished. The rooms were extremely comfortable. If you really want to avoid the tourist crowds and spend some time in an incredible unspoilt location then this will be perfect for you. We would highly recommend getting round on the mopeds as it is the best way to see the absolutely stunning scenery (but be careful of potholes and slippery mud if it rains). Thank you Lydia, we had the best time 🙏

This place is incredible, a lodge tucked away in nature with a breathtaking view of the rice fields and the sea in the distance. So peaceful, pure bliss! Julia, the owner, and her team are extraordinary, so charming, their smiles, kindness, and warmth made our stay unforgettable. A scooter was made available so we could explore the surroundings freely. A true gem! A pure moment of tranquility and peace.
