I stayed at Wayside Guesthouse in Chiang Mai for 3 nights, and honestly, I wish I could’ve stayed much longer. This was my first time staying in a guesthouse, and Jackie and her mom made it such a special experience—I truly felt at home. They were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting me with booking amazing activities like a Thai cooking class, an elephant sanctuary visit, and a national park tour. The breakfast was delicious every morning, and the atmosphere of the guesthouse was so peaceful and welcoming. I left with a full heart and a heavy one too. Khob khun kha mak mak, Jackie!

The place was cozy with a terrace to sit right by the entrance, the rooms were clean and bed was comfy. The owner was super friendly and they provided us a map and a list with best places to visit, excursions and restaurants to try !

Namthon, the owner, grows most of their food and will cook delicious meals. He will accommodate dietary restrictions as well, such as vegetarian and vegan. They also gave us recommendations on fun activities in the area. Great spot if you want relaxation but still be close to town and not far from Doi Inthanon national park.

From having our room cleaned and tidied up multiple times a day when we were out to them looking after our luggage when we were already checked out. The level of hospitality, attention to detail and just overall kindness is something we haven’t experienced before and don’t expect to find anywhere anytime soon. Highly recommend to stay here if you get the chance!

The host and the staff were really attentive, giving us recommendations and info about the city. Good breakfast, different each day; two mornings they prepared it early for us so we could have it before going on tour. The beds are very comfortable, hot water in the shower. Easy check-in and check-out. Very clean.
