we asked for a quiet room and they gave us a lovely room that was quiet. everything is very clean. the breakfast is freshly cooked and served to the table. free newspapers are available daily. the location is very close to the city centre. free parking is available. the receptionist, an Italian lady, was lovely. we were given bottles of water when we checked out for the journey home which was a very nice touch

Fern House is absolutely lovely. the location was great for this little boarding house-type situation! we loved that we had a private room (much nicer than a hostel) and the shared bathroom was beautiful and clean. (and there are one and a half baths, so that if somebody's in one things won't get desperate!) This little b and b has clearly been fixed up really recently and is being taken care of with love! secure front door entry and each room locks (obviously) and it's just a charming little place to stay while you visit cork! the bed was very comfortable and the sheets so nice and soft. the kitchen, patio seating and tv room were also lovely! (we were only here one night so didn't get to make us of everything) Thank you thank you!

The location was great, apartment style accommodations with a full kitchen, had privacy and felt safe.

We arrived very early, expecting to leave our luggage until check-in time, but were pleasantly surprised to get early check-in, after a little wait on the beautiful riverside veranda. The room was spacious and had it's own riverside veranda (shared with one room). The staff were all - reception, breakfast, cleaners - incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good - to order and we again ate outside by the river. We did a walking circuit of the main sights of Cork right from the hotel - no need to drive anywhere as it is near the scenic university campus and not excessively far from the center. Parking at the hotel was tight (glad we had rented a small car) but free and available. There was a microwave, fridge / freezer, table and chairs in a shared space outside our room which were able to use. We stayed in 9 different hotels / apartments during our visit to Ireland and this was our favorite - wish we had more than one night there. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff and it was clean. Liquid soap and shower gel provided. Kettle with some coffee in the room. The location was super handy too as I was arriving by train and it's literally 3 minute walk from there.

Very clean, great location and responsive host. It is easy to improve taking care of few things: install wi-fi, sort out the problem of a missing key in the box where it has been promised to be, and turning the heat on before the guest arrived. With windows open, it was very cold and took hours to heat up the studio. With taking care of these things, the rating will go to excellent.
