Terrific location in Kaikohe on the main street. Easy to find and run by a wonderful manager - Mihi. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel very welcome. There were secure facilities for our car and bikes (we were doing the Twin Coast Cycle trail).

If you are in the area, then make sure you stay at Paheke Lodge. It's a wonderful heritage property with loads of character and a beautiful garden. The owners are really helpful and friendly, and provide a fabulous freshly made healthy breakfast. The stewed plums, picked from the garden, are just amazing. You won't regret staying here.

This is a very amazing experience! The house is very large, the facilities are also great, and the courtyard is beautiful. We met the hosts, who were very friendly and enthusiastic.They even made dumplings for us to celebrate Chinese New Year. This makes us feel very warm. The hosts and the place are extraordinary. We read the reviews and arrived with quite high expectations. But Julie and Nick and this amazing lodge exceeded them. They go the extra mile for their guests and that's an understatement. The lodge is a class of its own and so are the rooms. Comfy bed, super clean ... and the rest you need to experience for yourselves. We will be back - hopefully soon.
