Very beautiful area, lovely history, nice restaurants and cafes. Great if you like to cycle, which sadly we do not. Autumn is the perfect time to visit. Be warned if you want to eat at Oliver's or the Post Office book ahead of time, we did not and could not get a booking. One night is probably enough, maybe two, then head off to Cromwell and onwards to see more.Guest review byMurray - 10.0
There is a big clock on the hilltop.
There is a big clock on the hilltop. A big playground in the city centre. An information centre with a museum and a small gallery in the same building. We could walk along the river in the bush. Grocery shopping was easy as there are two major supermarkets, New World and Woolworths. Fast food was easy to find. Cafes offer good-tasting coffee. There is plenty of free parking in the town centre, from where we could walk almost anywhere around the town. Alexandra is a small town for a visit, where you want to unwind in a laid-back setting. It is also close to Cromwell and Roxburgh, where you can go for cherry picking in the summer.Guest review byZeyingNew Zealand - 10.0

Clyde is a lovely quaint little town full of history and character with beautiful scenery as well. For us it was the finishing point of an absolutely beautiful ride around the Clyde. We will definitely return to do another ride the Otago Rail trail - Clyde is the starting point of this ride. People were so friendly too.Guest review byTracyNew Zealand - 8.0

The local pub has huge meals and a lovely atmosphere. No takeaways in Clyde Great for fruit orchards and cafes. Quaint historic part of town is the best. A nice relaxed town with a lot to offer . The dam is a great place to loo up and down the valleyGuest review byKim - 10.0

Alex is a great central place that you can get to all the good spots from. Much better than staying in Queenstown with all the traffic and planes going overhead. Accomm a bit more reasonably priced tooGuest review byPeterNew Zealand
