The stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and the area felt safe and quiet. Although I booked a single room, we were pleasantly surprised to each get a double bed at no extra cost. The gated parking was spacious and secure. Overall, very satisfied!

it was a simple but very clean room with bathroom, and a tv with Netflix :) perfect for one or two nights :) there’s no kitchen but we knew before, that’s why it was not necessary. nearby there are nice places to eat mexican food :) The stuff was super super friendly, took time to answer our questions about the city and options of transport & helped us a lot. Jose was a most wonderful and generous host. Communication with him was excellent and the apartment was full of character. It was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and with a lovely garden area complete with hammock. The old town, with its bars and restaurants was just a few minutes walk away.

    We've lived in Merida for 2 years and Campeche is our...

    We've lived in Merida for 2 years and Campeche is our favorite get-away. Seaside on the Gulf with a long and beautiful Malecon. Any type of restaurant you could ask for. The entire Historical Centro is very walkable. The portions of the remaining fortification are impressive. Plenty of tours to take and sightseeing to do. In our travels in Mexico, we have not encountered a nicer main Mercado. Not the largest, but one of the cleanest with some of the best produce we've found. They do not have Uber, but the taxis are reasonably priced.

    Campeche City is a very laid back city.

    Campeche City is a very laid back city. Younger visitors may think too much so, but for older (non-party) visitors, it has everything you could ask for. History, shopping, food. Tours of the city and to Mayan ruins are readily available. Excellent mercado.

    We read incredible reviews of Campeche in both The Lonely...

    We read incredible reviews of Campeche in both The Lonely Planet and The Rough Guide, as to how beautiful it was and so planned to stay two nights, however, we ended up staying only one as there wasn’t that much to do there, and actually preferred Valladolid and Merida. We didn’t think it was any prettier than other places, and we preferred to have an extra night in Merida which we thought more stunning with more character.
