Had a wonderful experience staying at the RestSafari. The place is set up in a big area where one can rest comfortably, and looks out on the jungle, where many animals (mainly buffaloes, peacocks, elephants, varanes, foxes) pass by during the day/night. Owners (and staff) are taking good care and are very friendly & relaxed. Nice campfires and surprisingly few mosquitoes. Slept really well in the cabana (great experience!) in a nice, natural breeze, and my room had a nice viewing spot to lay down and look out over the jungle area. Possible to take safari’s from here. The food/drinks served were also real good. Happy to have stayed/rested here. For directions: many (if not all) busses from Ella/Wellawaya to Matara/Tissamaharama will pass close by the RestSafari. Get off at 22 Junction (bus drivers know). It will cost about Rs. 200-350, and from the Junction you can take a local bus, tuktuk or arrange something with the RestSafari.

The facilities are just right for glamping - It is rustic but very comfortable and clean. The food was super delicious and pricing extremely reasonable. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and the service was excellent. Lovely place to just getaway from it all.

El hotel era precioso, las habitaciones muy amplias y muy cómodas. Las camas tenían colchones muy cómodos. El baño era precioso, con naturaleza incorporada para dar la sensación de hotel rural muy chic. Lo que más nos gustó fue el personal. Eran super atentos, acogedores y amables. Para el día que hicimos el safari, que salimos a las 5am del hotel, nos prepararon una bolsa de desayuno, super rico. El desayuno del día siguiente estaba increíble también, nos prepararon de todo, y a nuestro gusto totalmente. Eran tan amables que nos encantaría volver pronto. Lo recomiendo mucho si vais a hacer un safari en Yala, o pasáis por la zona, os gustará mucho.

We stayed only one night in this place, but it was enough to fall in love with it. Nandan was incredibly kind and attentive to every detail of our stay, making us feel truly welcome. The food was delicious (dinner and breakfast), and the rooms were spotless and well-equipped. The stunning biodiversity and natural beauty of the area made the experience even more unforgettable. Absolutely loved it!!!

An amazing hotel surrounded by beautiful nature, filled with the sounds of birdsong and the peaceful melodies of the environment. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a full board package, and my favorite dish was the Sri Lankan prawn curry at the Turnstone restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly, and I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. A special mention to Harsha at the main restaurant, who took excellent care of my drinks and was always warm and welcoming. I also tried the Indian head massage at the hotel spa, which was deeply relaxing. The therapist asked how I was feeling and ensured the pressure was to my liking, making the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel has a large swimming pool set in the heart of nature, perfect for daytime relaxation. Throughout the day, I only saw about 10 people there, which made it feel peaceful and exclusive. I especially enjoyed sipping fresh coconut water by the pool – a truly refreshing experience. The room was very spacious and had everything I needed, including a minibar, coffee, and tea-making facilities. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at this hotel and would confidently recommend it to my friends. I will definitely return.
