The owner was very kind and friendly. He made sure we were safe and had everything we needed when the worst storm hit Kirishima. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area or looking for a relaxing base for visiting the national park and Kagoshima.

Boss's house is the best! Beds are comfy and water pressure is very good and Haruka makes delicious food even had soy milk for our coffee and really thought of everything for us. Her English is good and you can feel at ease at Boss's House. Her dad is very nice and even played us some traditional Okinawa music. If you want a real Japanese host experience we can not recommend it highly enough. Just understand this is home in the middle of quiet street nothing is walkable so we had haruka pick us up and drop us off at airport which was seemless experience but does cost extra but it is totally worth it as taxis can be difficult to find or guide to this location. Haruka communication with us before our trip was above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We loved our stay on our way to Yakushima Island as a one night layover.
