The hotel was lovely and the local pub full of character and happy people! Close to the beautiful Pitsford reservoir with it's stunning scenery and relaxing and easy walking and cycling around. The small villages and towns nearby just beg to be explored and we wished we had more time to do this!Guest review byOrganistDenmark - 8.0
Nice authentic cottage, with everything you need.
Nice authentic cottage, with everything you need. It has a nice cosy livingroom with a big couch and a modern tv with Netflix. The kitchen is large and has a toaster and water cooker. Off street parking was great. Beds and linnen were nice and clean. There are enough clean towels and a cleaning cloth. There was some mold in the bathroom, but there was no ventilation, besides the mold it was very clean. The matrasses on the bed were not too good. The front door and key do not look very secure. There were cobwebs and spiders in corners which we removed with the vac. The pub in town does not serve food en there are no shops. So on the day off arriving we had to order via Uber for something to eat for dinner. There was no welcome pack as read in the reviews from other visitors upon arrival. If you book, make sure you have some groceries before arrival! All was well, we had a nice time in the cottage.Guest review bySimoneNetherlands - 10.0
It is a living village with proper shops.
It is a living village with proper shops. It had a small theatre which is a cinema as well. The local pubs are welcoming. There is a good garden nursery. The houses generally are built with Northampton stone which is a honey golden colour which to me is more attractive than Cotswold stone. The location of Moulton is excellent as it is suitable for walkers, also near to golf courses and other facilities. We were visiting friends nearby so didn’t eat in the pubs but have done in years gone by so can recommend the village. It has so much history. In the Poplars there are local informative booklets. So enjoy the area and the welcome at The Poplars.Guest review byMonicaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

As far as I know the only reason to visit here is the airfield. Immediately in front of the hotel is a company offering flights in vintage aircraft such as Spitfires and Tiger Moths and to one side is the base of the Blades Aerobatic team. Both were flying a range of aircraft all day with the Blades providing a full four aircraft flying display over the airfield for their own guests. It would be worth a visit for that alone. For anyone interested in aviation this is a great place to visit as the public areas are really close to the aircraft. We even had an impromptu fly past by the Red Arrows. Whether that happens often I don't know but as the Blades pilots are all ex Red Arrows I doubt it was a one off. No problem parking cars and no parking charges and the Aviator Hotel offers bar and food service to non residents.Guest review byAndyCUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Poplars is a hidden gem.
The Poplars is a hidden gem. It’s in a lovely peaceful location. Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. We were offered flapjacks and fruit as an act of kindness due to our arrival time and given a map of the local area with plenty of practical tips for local pubs, parks etc. My cousin stayed for breakfast as a visitor despite it being extremely busy. The staff can’t do enough to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Five Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Guest review byMandyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The church is attractive and active, with a curious piece of Saxon sculpture at the end of the South aisle. The (large) village has a number of houses well-worth admiring, from handsome town houses to cottages, mostly in the warm reddened local limestone; there are enough shops to avoid the need to go into Northampton for any but special needs. Two pubs serve meals, as does The Poplars hotel on some days. From Thursday to Sunday (when we were there) the J Gallery serves excellent coffee and stages exhibitions of work, often by local artists. On our visit the quality of this work was remarkable.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom
