Full marks in every department. The location is very near the lion’s rock, the hotel has every facility you need, including a well maintained pool, the staff was also very helpful & kind. The food & views at the hotel are really good too.

A tranquil retreat perched on hills, Heritance Kandalama offers panoramic views of the Sigiriya Rocks. The hotel is amazing. It has 3 amazing pools with a great view on the lake. It is surrounded by nature (and wild monkeys!!). The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Also the breakfast buffet is incredible. Finally, the staff is incredibly kind and professional. A special mention must go to Dulsha working in the Cafe Kachchan who made our stay all the more unique.

Probably, being a fully female-led hotel makes the difference not only in envisioning a new way of doing business, but also in guaranteeing a high standard level of service!

Set in Sigiriya, 9.2 km from Pidurangala Rock, Tropicara Resort offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant. That is an extremely cute place! Rooms are clean, hot water pressure is perfect. They have a really clean swimming pool and even warm, that was wonderful after all day road. Humidity level in room is good, there isn't any smell and I could dry all my clothes. Also they have a restaurant, I ate only breakfast, but it was good and tasty. Definitely recommended to stay here.

Set within 1.4 km of Sigiriya Rock and 4.5 km of Pidurangala Rock in Sigiriya, Sigiriya Palace View features accommodation with seating area. I was travelling this part of my holiday alone and spent Christmas with Suriya and his wife Sunathra at their homestay. I felt so at home and cared for. They really made an effort to celebrate Christmas with me. We had a wonderful meal together and spent the evening together sharing stories. I bought his children some treats for Christmas and the next day they each presented me with a wonderful handmade Christmas card. This was so unexpected and almost bought me to tears. Thank you so much Nethushi, Sarasi and Thisara. Suriya is very knowledgeable of the local area and is happy to suggest activities and or amazing spots to visit locally. I had my own tuk tuk so visited a few he suggested myself but I also had Suriya take me to Dambulla and Polonnaruwa. This was for a very reasonable price. We saw wild elephants twice on our return trip which was a real bonus I have read some previous reviews and I think people confuse his willingness to help and genuinely ensure you have an amazing time as him trying to push you to do activities. He is more than happy for you to do your own thing he just wants to make sure he is of service in any way he can be to ensure you have the best possible experience in his home town. Lastly I highly recommend you have Sunathra cook you a meal. I ate out once for dinner and lunch the rest of the meals over my three night stay I ate Sunathras food. Every meal was different and delicious. I was offered a choice of protein, multiple side dishes in portions I could never finish. A great introduction to Sri Lankan hospitality and Suriya, Sunathra and family set the bar extremely high. Rooms: The deluxe AC rooms have a beautiful view of Sigiriya and their own private area at the rear of the property. These had sold out by the time I booked. The non AC room I booked was comfortable and the trees in the garden kept it cool during the day and sleeping at night with the fan on was fine. I had just come from the UK winter.

Sigiriya Kings Resort was the hidden gem during our stay in Sri Lanka. It is a place surrounded by nature and very quiet. There is a big pond that is right next to the lodge where you can see frogs and many many birds. The rooms are high standard, good and silent air conditioning, good shower with amenities, bathrobe, and a flash light. The people were extremely friendly and attentive. I could only touch a sun umbrella and within seconds somebody was there to help me. The continental breakfast was superb and we enjoyed it every day. Fresh juice, smoothie, yoghurt, eggs/bacon/beans, fruits, and sweets. We usually don’t eat dinner at the restaurant of the hotel but ended eating at this place every evening. The meals were so delicious and worth the price. Recommendation: Tom Yum soup and everything on the SKR specials page! They have multiple trips that they offer and arrange for you. We booked the safari in Hurulu. They knew exactly where the elephants were these days and we saw around 40 of them also very close up. Big thanks to our guide Samantha for the awesome experience🎉 And not to forget the lovely view to Lions Rock and Pidurangala. We took one of their bikes to make a nice 1.5h ride to the base of the Lions Rock and city center. It’s a cool way to discover the surroundings. We enjoyed everything and want to say big thanks to the owner and staff for taking such good care and making our stay unforgettable. ❤️

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Sigiri Anu Homestay is located in Sigiriya. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Very comfortable and roomy for 3 adults. Liked the outdoor sitting area where we ate a fabulous breakfast that was included in the rate. Anu was an exceptional host! Drove us by TukTuk to visit local attractions

Set in Sigiriya, 2.2 km from Sigiriya Rock, Chena Huts Eco Resort offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. While the location was outside of the area for most of the town’s amenities, its relative isolation meant for a quiet, more peaceful stay. Also saw some (harmless) wildlife near the huts: peacocks and peahens, other colorful birds, lizards, frogs etc. The staff was flexible and accommodating; if I ever return to Sigiriya, I will plan to return to Chena Huts.
