The facility is owner operated. He is friendly and can speak English, although he is Spanish. Most willing to try to get us to a specific tour by calling the organisers. The room was spacious and the swimming a great relieve in the heat of Puerto Viejo. About 300 metres from the sea and very nice beach restaurants.

We had everything we needed in our room. Pool was nice place to end our days and visit with others. Plenty of towels for pool or beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good everyday and so nice to have it brought to our sitting area.

Situated in Puerto Viejo, 1.2 km from Manzanillo Beach, Manzanillo Caribbean Resort features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. WOW!!! First timers in CR so we didn't know what to expect. We were very happy with our choice. The breakfasts were terrific with cereal, yogurt, eggs (scrambled or fried), sausage, pancakes etc were great. The resort is extremely well maintained and clean. The pool and kids pool were very clean and probably 89°F during our stay (end of February). The Tiki Bar is staffed with great guys who are happy to help. They offer adult beverages and kids drinks along with some really great lunch and dinner options. The only complaint is around the policy around the drinks at the pool. I completely understand not having any glass around the pool but there is nothing better than relaxing in the pool with your drink on the edge of the pool especially when the Tiki Bar provides the drinks in glass. Might suggest a review? The accommodations were also very nice with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and the room was made up daily with fresh towels for the bathroom and the pool. The location was also an easy walk to Playa Manzanillo. Are there resorts that you could pay double or triple the price? I am sure there are but why???? This resort satisfied all our needs and when looking at the hit to the bank account it was a fantastic choice. Don't be fooled by others, you will NOT be disappointed here

Design, decor, seclusion, natural beauty, yet closenest to all, and then in this order: the staff, the entire front line team, the housekeepers (loved getting to know Raquel) the howler monkeys over our head, and the toucans, every day! The beach access to the most beautiful beach....The most delucious breakfast and meals! I wish we'd still be there! We enjoyed the easy access to Cocles beach, Manzanillo park, Puerto Viejo at night, a big WOW!

La Prometida is a beautiful hotel with a real personal touch from the owners who were also incredibly helpful in advising and providing recommendations for the surrounding area (as were all the staff, who were also so friendly!). Breakfast was also delicious with various options to choose from.
